The stalker quiver is its own type, and an old one. It is not a back quiver and not a field quiver: a slit runs down the side so an arrow can be drawn sideways, silently, instead of reaching over the shoulder and rattling the shafts. Worn at the side or on the back on its own shoulder strap, so it needs no belt. No pockets, a lambswool-lined collar that quiets the draw and holds the arrows steady, and a foam base that takes broadheads without dulling them. It holds more than a dozen hunting arrows. Take it for stalking and roving; for a scored field course the field quiver is the better tool.
