Bow Sling, Laced Mount, Made to Measure

Wrist slings need a threaded stabiliser insert to hold the yoke. Traditional wooden risers do not have one, and the usual answers, velcro or a zip tie, either slip or mark the wood.

This one wraps around the riser instead. The wrap is cut slightly shorter than the circumference of your riser, so lacing it up pulls it tight and it stays. No screws, nothing that can scratch the finish, and it comes off whenever you want.

Because the wrap has to match your riser, each one is cut to your measurement, and that measurement is more than a number. Wrap a 4 cm wide strip of tape around the riser where you want the sling to sit and cut it where the ends meet. Peel it off, lay it flat on a sheet of paper and draw around it, then photograph the sheet and send it to me with two photos of the riser. Laid flat, the strip shows the shape, not just the length, and a riser is rarely straight at that point. I will go through it with you before I cut anything.

You lace it on yourself, the same motion as lacing a boot. That is why it fits shapes a moulded part never could, and it is why the measurement is worth two careful minutes.
