Bow Sling, Stabiliser Mount

The oldest piece in my workshop, and the simplest. A leather strap that keeps the bow from jumping out of your hand at the shot, so you can hold an open grip and let the bow do what it wants.

The leather base sits between the riser and the stabiliser. You screw the stabiliser into the insert with the base underneath, and the stabiliser clamps it in place. Nothing else holds it, and nothing touches the finish of the riser.

Your bow needs a threaded stabiliser insert for this. Traditional wooden risers usually have none, and for those there is the laced version, which wraps around the riser and needs no thread.

Plenty of archers shoot with a sling like this, most often on hunting setups and on compound bows.

The hand guard is new. A customer wanted something softer against the back of the hand, so a wider leather piece now runs on the lace. Pull it off if you do not want it, and the sling is what it always was.
